The Forney City Council presented Fallen Hero Day Proclamations, Certificate of Appreciation for Military Service – Robert Curtis Benford II; terminated a construction contract; adopted new fees for building permits, extended agreements for Zanatas (but not for Groovy's), made preparations to issue $5 million in CO's.

Forney City Council Sep. 2 lowers taxes, debates Booker T. building, accepts land for new fire station

Forney Council held a workshop regarding the fate of the recently purchased Booker T. Washington school building, adopted new budget which lowers taxes 2.5 cents, accepted 4.33 acres in Meadow Ridge for a future fire station, and had a second visit by a resident seeking ordinance enforcement.

July 1 City Council approves early payment, watering violation enforcement, Trinity Street design

    City Council approved: early payment on a portion of "Pass-Through Toll Revenue and Limited Tax Bonds, Series 2008";a Resolution to allow for enforcement of the amended watering restrictions; a contract with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc., for the Trinity Street construction design; heard from Les Reynolds, who had suggestions RE: the 140th event; Held a lengthy review of the preliminary Strategic Plan.

Forney City Council June 17 meeting Approved a site plan for Huddle House, a CUP for consignment shop, rezoning a lot from SF-6 to GR, tabled changes to the sign ordinance, approved awnings up to 15' wide for outdoor dining, financial incetive for Mama's Daughters, proceeding with annexation of land, scheduling an update to water & sewer fees, and an awning at Crumbzz.

During its regular meeting on Jan. 7 the Forney City Council approved a C.U.P. for a private club at 215 S. Bois D'Arc

Dec. 17 City Council approves actions for Aldi, Kroger and snow cone stands

During a lightly-attended regular meeting, the Forney City Council approved a plat for Ridgecrest Center Addition, and the site plan for the Aldi Food Store which will anchor that center, Eagle Ridge Phase 2, changes to the Mustang Crossing PD, replats of the 211/213/215 Bois D 'Arc properties, awarded a bid for median landscaping, approved a contract re: Layden Senior Citizen Center.

Dec. 03 City Council prefers to keep all RR crossings open, grants alcohol variance for Zanata's

Dec. 03 City Council: Recognized Zacherie T. Williams for military service; Recognized Community Thrift and Value Center; Now prefers to implement the Quiet Zone while keeping all RR crossings open; Granted a variance for on-premises consumption of alcohol for Zanata's; Approved changes to employee health insurance, joining Fort Worth coop purchasing system, and amended Wastewater Contract w/ KDMWUD 3.

Forney EDC Nov. 29 moves forward w/ Zanata & Groovy's lease agreements

In a Special Meeting on Nov. 29, the Forney EDC approved, with some modifications, the Performance Agreements and Lease Agreements with Zanata Restaurant Group LLC and Groovy's for the properties at 215 and 211 S. Bois D'arc, resp.

City moves to settle lawsuit with Pate Transportation and Forney Roadbuilders

Mar. 19 2013 City Council proclaims March for Meals Month, approves items for The Cedars at Gateway, tables action for an FEDC $2 million bond sale, awards bid for Eastridge Drainage project, and after a 1 hour executive session, moves to settle lawsuit with Pate Transportation and Forney Roadbuilders.

City Council passes smoking ban ordinance Jan. 22, 2013

The Forney City Council passes an ordinance banning smoking in Public Buildings and in Eating Establishments, and up to 25 feet from doors or openings to same. They also approved seeking RFQ's for further park development, and a rate increase for solid waste service.
