Forney P&Z Mar. 10 approves second 7-11 store and Mixed Use rezoning

During its regular meeting on a non-regular night, the Forney Planning & Zoning Commission -

  • Approved, as consent items:
    • An amended site plan for Rio Lerma Restaurant, located at 124 E. U.S. Highway 80.
      This allows an existing curbed parking island to become an outdoor patio deck with fencing, which will have tables with umbrellas.
    • A preliminary plat, and then the site plan, for 7 Eleven South Addition, Lot 1, Block 1, located at the east corner of F.M. 741 and F.M. 548.
      This will have an automated car wash with 7-ft clearance, and will be diagonally across the intersection from the existing retail center in the Fox Hollow PD. There will be two access points.
  • Held a Public hearing and approved a Conditional Use Permit for the use of β€œCar Wash (Self Service; Automated)” to operate as an accessory use at the east corner of F.M. 741 and F.M. 548.
  • Held a Public hearing and approved a request for a rezoning from AG Agricultural District to MU – Mixed Use District. The property consists of 28.944 acres out of the John Gregg Survey, Abstract No. 171, City of Forney, Kaufman County, Texas. The property is generally located south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 80 and County Road 225.
  • Held a Public hearing an approved a request for MU – Mixed Use District zoning for 57.279 acres of property out of the John Gregg Survey, Abstract No. 171, City of Forney, Kaufman County, Texas. The property is generally located south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 80 and County Road 225. The property is currently under consideration for annexation into the City of Forney.
