Council accepts infrastructure, moves forward on some legal items
During its regular Sep. 01, 2020 meeting, the Forney City Council met to consider infrastructure, landscaping, legal actions.

- Swore in appointed council member James Traylor.
- Approved as one consent item:
- the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Amazon DDX7 Project.
- the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Caliber Collision project.
- the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Deen Kubota project.
- the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Eagle Ridge Phase IV project.
- the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Firestone project.
- the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Kroger North Drive Addition project.
- a Resolution approving a negotiated settlement between the Atmos Cities Steering Committee (ACSC) and ATMOS Energy Corp., Mid-Tex Division regarding the 2020 Rate Review Mechanism Filing.
Documents indicate this will approve rate increases for residential of 9.9% and commercial of 6.56%.
- a Resolution to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with AAA Greenleaf Landscaping for a period of Two Months for landscape and mowing in the Fox Hollow PID.
Documents indicate this will approve $16,000 / month to maintain 31+ acres.
- authorizing city staff to seek Request for Proposals (RFP) for Fox Hollow PID landscape and site maintenance.

- City Manager's report - items on agenda were projects that will be opening, $31 million worth of investment, during a time when no new growth in much of the country. Thanks to building, community development, fire, engineering departments.
- Council Comments - Mr. Johnson thanks staff for
work and the budget; Mr. Cooper thanks staff, welcome Mr. Traylor; Mr. Moon
welcomed Mr. Traylor; Mr. Myers used to hear how city was difficult to work with, staff has made improvements, easy to work with now; Mr. Traylor met w/ Mr. Carson and Ms. Brooks, staff been phenomenal, thanked Mike Thomas for his service; Mayor Penn Forney greatest place to live, had concerns about how city was hard to work with, thanks to staff for fixing that, and to cohesive council. Thanks PD Chief Lunt for crime they foiled with attempted armed robbery on Ridgecrest. Thanks Mr. Carson for the new companies coming in.
